Pashupatinath Temple


Pashupatinath Temple from the ancient time, it is the one of the most sacred religious place located in Nepal. It is very famous temple of the world which is recognized as the biggest Hindu temple of Nepal. This temple is dedicated to Pashupatinath, it is the name of Lord Shiva and the greatest god of Hindus. This temple is very beautiful and has amazing architecture as well as surroundings, due to this reason it is recognized in World heritage site since 1979.

Pashupatinath temple is located on the side of Bagmati River 5 k.m. north-east of Kathmandu city in the eastern city of Kathmandu valley. (It is the capital city of Nepal). It is considered as one of the holiest temple of Hindu faith. This place is so much crowdie at the occasion of “Mahashiva ratri” which is most popular festival of Hindu and more than 700,000 pilgrims from the world visit at that time. It has great significance in the world which helps to elaborate the name of Nepal.




Pashupatinath’s Main temple’s design is built in the Nepalese pagoda (In the form of a Many tiered tower) style of architecture and all types of Pagoda style is founded in here. The main temple of Pashupatinath is building with a bunk root and golden spire. It is a cubic construction with four main doors, all covered with silver sheets.

Many external and internal tourist visit this place each day. The main temple is only allowed to visit followers of Hindus but all other temples are open to visit all the visitors and tourists. Many tourist also wants to visit the Sadhus of Pashupatinath temple, they always live near the temple. They have very unique appearance with particular yellow painting on their bodies.
