A Peaceful Hidden Paradise in Eastern Nepal

mai pokhari nepal

If you love peaceful nature, green forests, fresh mountain air, and quiet travel destinations away from crowded cities, Mai Pokhari in Nepal is one of the most beautiful places you should visit at least once. During my journey to eastern Nepal, Mai Pokhari became one of those places that surprised me the most. The peaceful environment, religious importance, and natural beauty made the trip feel completely different from other tourist destinations in Nepal.

Mai Pokhari is located in Ilam district in eastern Nepal. The place is famous for its large pond surrounded by dense forests, colorful flowers, and beautiful hills. Many people call it one of the hidden gems of Nepal because the area still feels natural and less commercialized compared to other popular destinations.

First Impression of Mai Pokhari

The first thing I noticed after reaching Mai Pokhari was the peaceful atmosphere. Unlike busy cities or crowded tourist places, the area felt calm and refreshing. The sound of birds, cool wind, and quiet surroundings created a relaxing experience immediately.

Guardians of the Globe: Why the World Trusts Nepali Professionals for Security

From the high-stakes battlefields of global conflicts to the secure gates of embassies and airports, a distinct reputation precedes a certain group of professionals: the Nepalis. For centuries, the world has looked to this small, landlocked country for its most trusted security personnel. Their global presence is a testament to an unmatched legacy of bravery, an unwavering code of honor, and a profound commitment to service.

This guide delves into the powerful reasons why Nepali professionals are uniquely suited for security roles, earning them the title of Guardians of the Globe.

1. The Unbroken Legacy of the Gurkhas

The story of Nepal's global security footprint begins with the legendary Gurkhas, a force so formidable that the British Army began recruiting them after being impressed by their courage in battle during the Anglo-Nepalese War of 1814.

  • A Reputation Forged in Honor: Gurkha soldiers have served with distinction for over 200 years, earning a reputation for being some of the finest and most feared soldiers in the world. Their motto, "Better to die than be a coward," is not just a phrase; it is a code of conduct they live by.

  • A Tradition of Distinction: Gurkhas have served with immense bravery in both World Wars, the Falklands War, and countless modern conflicts. The Brigade of Gurkhas, a unique part of the British Army, continues this tradition with over 4,000 personnel in various roles, including elite infantry and specialized units.

  • The Khukuri: A Symbol of Courage: The Gurkhas are famously associated with their traditional, heavy, curved knife, the khukuri. This weapon symbolizes their tenacity and their ability to face any challenge head-on.
