IELTS listening tips for Nepali Students

To get high band in your listening of your IELTS exam you have to develop  habit of listening english programs, news, you can also watch  English movies without subtitle and more. The most important thing is you should practice all the test given by British council and prepare for types of complexity.

1. Read the black heading before the question (NB)

You have to carefully read these black headings text, many student often don't care about it and directly went to question, as a result in the easy question also they are loosing their score. For instance in the paper there is usually written Write no more than one words, Write no more than two words etc.

2. Read the question before listen and predict the answer

The most difficult part of this test is many trying to listen and read the question at the same time by reason they can lost their score. One best trick is read question carefully and predict the answer for instance what it is asking like Name, Number, Date, Phone number etc. By this you can concentrate for answer and easily write it.

3. Focus on the question and read as you listen

Many students having difficulties to read as listening the word and lose their concentration. So always try to read as the recording and focus on the precise question, their may have lots of confusion so you must focus on what is asked in the question.

4. Careful with the order of the questions

In the IELTS listening test the answer always comes simultaneously as the order of the questions. You have often question of table completion and fill the text in figure, Recording never goes in odd order and left to right order so be cool and listen recording in order wise.

5. Always read 2 questions once

If you only waiting for one answer and miss that answer you might get panic. So always prepare for two question if you loose the track then this will make mistake for your upcoming other answer.

6. Move further if you miss the question

There are 40 question and you might miss some doubtful answer so dont worry and move to another question first, never waste your crucial time on prediction and write wrong answer. If you do that it certainly harm your other remaining questions also.

7. Try to paraphrase question using synonyms

There are lots of case answer come after the synonyms word. If you only wait for same given words then you wont find the right answer so this is the best way to find out exact answer.

8. Check spelling and correct it

While you are listening and writing it is not necessary to correct spelling because it can take some time and you can miss other question. So in the transformation time you can correct the spelling of the answer. Many student doing big mistake on singular, plural, name of the places etc.

9.  Don't leave blank answer

If you miss some answer then don't leave blank it not looks good. You will net get penalized and reduced your marks if you write wrong answer so try to predict and write answer according to the relevant questions.
